2 Days : The Quick One
DAY 1: HA GIANG – TAM SON – DONG VAN (135 KM)
8:30am – Our team will pick you up at your hotel/homestay around Ha Giang City then we’ll start the tour and exit the city, enjoying the mountain views and the peaceful villages.
10:00am – Stopping at the top of the Bac Sum slope that is the first pass leading into the Dong Van Global Karst Plateau Geopark (the first Geopark in Vietnam)
11:00am – Arriving at Quan Ba Heaven Gate that is called the highest point with the 1500m above from the sea level. Then you can get a break with the great panoramic view of the mountains.
12 – 1:30pm – Driving to Yen Minh Town, enjoying the mountain views along the way. Having lunch in Yen Minh town.
2:30pm – After lunch, we continue to hit the road ahead to Sa Phin village, visit the Vuong ancient house (Hmong King palace).
5:00pm – Moving to Dong Van town then do the check-in at your hotel/homestay in town, taking your time and going for a walk around Dong Van ancient town.
7:30pm – Having dinner time, enjoying some local foods and finishing the long busy day with some happy water 🙂
DAY 2: DONG VAN – MA PI LENG PASS – HA GIANG (160 KM)
8:00am – After breakfast, getting on the road again.
9:00am – Driving to Ma-Pi-Leng pass (This is one of the 4 most beautiful passes of Vietnam) from the top of the pass you can have the view to Tu San canyon (This is the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia).
10 – 12pm – Driving though Meo Vac Town, taking on road back to Yen Minh town, enjoying the view along the way.
1:30pm – Having lunch in Yen Minh town.
2:30pm – Getting on the road again ahead back to Ha Giang city, visiting Lung Tam village on the way (learning the ancient way of doing Hemp Weaving from the Hmong people).
5:30pm – Coming back to Ha Giang city.
3 Days : The Classic
DAY 1: HA GIANG – TAM SON – DONG VAN (135 KM)
8:30am – Our team will pick you up at your hotels/homestay around Ha Giang City then we’ll start the tour and exit the city, enjoying the mountain views and the peaceful villages.

8:30am – Breakfast in town with mountain views. You can also visit the biggest local market in Dong Van (if it’s Sunday).
9:00am – Riding out of town, driving down to Nho Que River, then taking a boat trip (about 1.5 hours) through Tu San Canyon (the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia).
11:30am – Returning to the road to cross Ma Pi Leng Pass (one of the four most beautiful passes in Vietnam).
1:00pm – Lunch break in Meo Vac Town.
2:30pm – Continue the ride to Du Gia Village, with a stop at Sa Li Pass for panoramic views of Dao villages and rice terraces.
5:30pm – Arrival in Du Gia Village, check in to a local homestay, and enjoy the peaceful Tay ethnic village.
7:30pm – Dinner with traditional music.
DAY 3: DU GIA VILLAGE – HA GIANG CITY (120KM)
8:00am – Breakfast with a mountain view.
8:30am – Visit Du Gia Waterfall.
9:30am – Heading back to Ha Giang City, passing through beautiful Hmong villages.
12:00pm – Visit Lung Tam Village to observe and learn about traditional hemp weaving of the Hmong people.
1:30pm – Lunch in Nam Dam Village (a Dao cultural village).
2:30pm – Continue riding 45km back to Ha Giang City.
5:00pm – Stop at a city viewpoint for panoramic views (option to enjoy coffee or beer with the team).
5:30pm – End of tour at your hotel/homestay or the bus station.
4 Days : The Cultural
DAY 1: HA GIANG – TAM SON (75KM)
8:00am – Our team pick you up at your hotels/homestay in Ha Giang city, then we will visit Thon Tha & Ha Thanh villages that are the 2 beautiful villages of Tay people, you can swim at the waterfall in Ha Thanh village (if weather is nice)
10–12pm – Starting on the motorbike riding, reaching Minh Tan village then having lunch at a local restaurant.
1:00pm – Hitting the road and start do the the Bac Sum pass (first pass leading to the Dong Van Global Karst Plateau Geopark), Quan Ba Heaven Gate and the Co Tien twin mountains.
4:00pm – Getting to Lung Khuy village, dropping the bikes there, then getting some walk for 1,2km to visit Lung Khuy Cave which is called the most beautiful cave inside the Geopark.
5:30pm – Getting on bikes ahead to Nam Dam village, checking in the homestay of Red Dao people, getting some rest after a long day in the peaceful village.
7:30pm – Enjoying the Family dinner, having a rest after dinner.
DAY 2: TAM SON – LUNG CU – DONG VAN (135KM)
8:30am – After breakfast, we will get on the bike again about 38km to Yen Minh, enjoying the landscape then reaching the top of the Can Ty pass.
10:30am – Stopping a bit to take a few pictures on the top of Lao va Chai valley where there is a great view to see the terraced rice fields.
11–12:00pm – Driving though Yen Minh town, stopping at some picture spots: Tham Ma Pass.
1:00pm – Arriving at Sa Phin village & having a break in the village. After lunch, getting a short visit to the Hmong King palace.
2:30pm – Starting to drive to the northernmost area of Vietnam near the border of China. Climbing up to the Lung Cu National Flagpole (from the top of the Flagpole, you can see the border of China).
5:00pm – Getting on the road back to Dong Van old town, then checking in the hotel, taking a walk around the Dong Van ancient town.
7:30pm – Having a dinner, enjoy some local foods & finish the day with some homemade wine :).
DAY 3: DONG VAN – MA PI LENG PASS – DU GIA VILLAGE (90KM)
8:30am – Having breakfast in the town with the mountain views (you will have a chance to visit the biggest local market in Dong Van if you come here on Sunday).
9:00am – Getting on the bike again to go to the town, driving down to Nho Que river, next is getting a boat trip for around 1,5 hour on Nho Que river, through Tu San canyon (the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia).
11:30am – Coming back on the road to Ma Pi Leng pass (This is one of the four most beautiful passes of Vietnam).
1:00pm – Having lunch in Meo Vac town.
2:30pm – Getting on the road again to get to Du Gia village, on the way we will stop at Sa Li pass, where you can see the Dao villages and rice terraces from the top of the mountain.
5:30pm – Arriving at Du Gia village, checking at the homestay of the Tay people, visiting the peaceful village.
7:30pm – Having dinner & enjoying some traditional music.
DAY 4: DU GIA VILLAGE – HA GIANG CITY (120KM)
8:00am – Having breakfast with the mountain view.
8:30am – Getting on the road, visiting Du Gia waterfall.
9:30am – Getting on the road to Ha Giang city, on the way we will visit some beautiful Hmong villages (we can take a few pictures on the way).
12:00pm – Visiting Lung Tam village where you can observe and learn how to make Hemp weaving from the Hmong people.
1:30pm – Having lunch in Nam Dam village (the culture village of the Dao people).
5:00pm – Getting to the city viewpoint where you can have the panoramic view of the city (you can get one last beer/coffee with our team after the tour).
5:30pm – Finishing the tour at your hotel/homestay or the bus station.

The rooms were spacious and had all the necessities. I arrived a bit unorganised and mentioned that I wanted to do the Ha Giang Loop solo. The lady kindly gave me a map and recommended routes based on how many nights I wanted to stay. They also rented me a motorbike at a reasonable price.
When I returned three days later to drop off the bike, I had a sleeper bus booked for the evening. They let me stay there while I waited, even offering me a shower and some fruit.
Not to mention the delicious breakfast and fruit.

The hostel is affordable, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the included breakfast is good. We arrived at 4 AM and they were still waiting for us without any issues — they really adapt to your schedule.

Clean new rooms, delicious food, and most importantly the attitude of the hostess! She was so welcoming and attentive, waited for us, although we arrived very late and fed us dinner! In the morning, a delicious breakfast and coffee awaited us. They told us how best to travel along the loop and which locations are a must-see. We rode our own motorcycle, but here you can rent one and book a motorcycle tour.
We liked it so much that after a 4-day trip along the loop, we stayed another night to rest.
Excellent homestay, there are private rooms and shared ones, everything is very modern and very clean. On the second floor there is a beautiful chill area with a view of the waterfall.
The hostess is very kind and always ready to help. An incredibly warm welcome and a feeling of "home"
